Rise Against Evil is a community site where people report bullying, harassment, and cruelty, and Guardian Angels offer peaceful support. Many people who use it are in a hard or unsafe situation, so we collect as little as we can and keep private things private.

What we collect: what happened, when, where (city or country, and the place you describe), any school or workplace you mention, the names of the people responsible, how you know about it, your notes, the video, and your contact details unless you report anonymously.
Who sees it: only our moderators. If a moderator approves a case, the public case wall shows only what the moderator writes: a short summary, a general place, the city or country, and the date. The video is shown only if a moderator judges that no one can be identified, usually after blurring faces and other details. Names are never published.
Sharing: we may share a report with the police or other authorities when a crime is involved, when someone is in danger, or when the law requires it.
How long: until it's no longer needed or you ask us to delete it.
You can always report anonymously. Without contact details we can't follow up with you, but the report is reviewed just the same.
What we collect: your email, the name or nickname you give, the cities and distance and countries you choose, how you could help, and your language.
Why: only to confirm your sign-up and to email you about confirmed cases near you. Moderators can see your sign-up; nobody else can.
How long: until you unsubscribe. Every alert has an unsubscribe link, which deletes your sign-up completely.
What you write in a comment, and the name you choose to post under, is public. You can always post as Anonymous. Comments are the commenter's own words; we don't check them before they appear.
With each comment we also keep two codes that are never shown to anyone: a random id for your browser, and a scrambled version of your internet connection's address (a one-way "hash": it can't be turned back into your IP address). They keep one name per browser, count likes fairly, and let moderators stop abuse.
A moderator can remove a comment, or hide all comments from someone abusing the site for 30 days. Reporting a comment sends it to our moderators; it doesn't remove it.
To stop floods of fake reports and comments, we count how often each connection does things like submitting a report or signing in. These counts use the same scrambled code, never your IP address, and are deleted after a short time.
Our hosting provider tells us which country your connection is in, so the crisis bar can show a helpline for your country. We don't store it.
Your browser keeps a few small things on your device: your language choice, the random browser id (for likes and your comment name), and the name you last commented under. Moderators also get a sign-in cookie. We don't use cookies for anything else. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
Information is encrypted on its way between your device and these services (HTTPS). Private report details are behind a moderator password.
Young people are welcome to report bullying. If you're under 14, please report anonymously, or ask a parent, guardian, or teacher you trust to help you.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it. Email riseagainstevil.help@gmail.com and we'll answer as soon as we can. If a case or comment is about you and you believe it harms you unfairly, email us and a moderator will review it.
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.

받는 정보: 무슨 일이 있었는지, 언제, 어디서(도시나 나라, 그리고 적어 주신 장소), 적어 주신 학교나 직장, 가해자의 이름, 어떻게 알게 되었는지, 메모, 영상, 그리고 익명이 아닌 경우 연락처.
볼 수 있는 사람: 검토자만 볼 수 있습니다. 검토자가 사건을 승인하면, 공개 사건 게시판에는 검토자가 작성한 내용만 올라갑니다. 짧은 요약, 대략적인 장소, 도시나 나라, 날짜입니다. 영상은 검토자가 누구도 알아볼 수 없다고 판단한 경우에만, 보통 얼굴 등을 흐리게 처리한 뒤에 공개됩니다. 이름은 절대 공개되지 않습니다.
제공: 범죄가 관련되었거나, 누군가 위험에 처해 있거나, 법이 요구하는 경우 경찰 등 관계 기관에 신고 내용을 제공할 수 있습니다.
보관 기간: 더 이상 필요하지 않거나 삭제를 요청하실 때까지.
언제든 익명으로 신고할 수 있습니다. 연락처가 없으면 저희가 다시 연락드릴 수는 없지만, 신고는 똑같이 검토됩니다.
받는 정보: 이메일, 적어 주신 이름이나 닉네임, 선택하신 도시와 거리, 나라, 도울 수 있는 방법, 사용 언어.
이유: 가입 확인과, 가까운 곳에서 확인된 사건을 이메일로 알려 드리기 위해서만 사용합니다. 가입 정보는 검토자만 볼 수 있습니다.
보관 기간: 수신 거부하실 때까지. 모든 알림 메일에 수신 거부 링크가 있으며, 누르면 가입 정보가 완전히 삭제됩니다.
댓글 내용과 선택하신 작성자 이름은 공개됩니다. 언제든 익명으로 올릴 수 있습니다. 댓글은 작성자 본인의 말이며, 올라가기 전에 저희가 확인하지 않습니다.
댓글마다 누구에게도 보이지 않는 두 가지 코드를 함께 보관합니다. 브라우저용 무작위 ID와, 인터넷 연결 주소를 뒤섞은 값(되돌릴 수 없는 '해시'로, IP 주소로 다시 바꿀 수 없습니다)입니다. 브라우저당 이름 하나를 유지하고, 좋아요를 공정하게 세고, 검토자가 악용을 막는 데 쓰입니다.
검토자는 댓글을 삭제하거나, 사이트를 악용하는 사람의 댓글을 30일 동안 모두 숨길 수 있습니다. 댓글을 신고하면 검토자에게 전달될 뿐, 댓글이 삭제되지는 않습니다.
가짜 신고와 댓글이 쏟아지는 것을 막기 위해, 신고 제출이나 로그인 같은 행동을 연결별로 몇 번 했는지 셉니다. 이 기록도 IP 주소가 아닌 같은 뒤섞인 코드를 쓰며, 짧은 시간 후 삭제됩니다.
호스팅 업체가 접속하신 나라를 알려 주어, 위기 안내 띠에 해당 나라의 상담 전화를 보여 드립니다. 저장하지 않습니다.
브라우저에 몇 가지 작은 정보가 저장됩니다. 언어 선택, 무작위 브라우저 ID(좋아요와 댓글 이름용), 마지막으로 댓글을 쓴 이름입니다. 검토자에게는 로그인 쿠키가 추가됩니다. 그 밖의 용도로는 쿠키를 사용하지 않습니다. 브라우저 데이터를 지우면 모두 삭제됩니다.
기기와 이 서비스들 사이를 오가는 정보는 암호화됩니다(HTTPS). 신고의 비공개 내용은 검토자 비밀번호로 보호됩니다.
청소년도 괴롭힘을 신고할 수 있습니다. 만 14세 미만이라면 익명으로 신고하거나, 믿을 수 있는 부모님, 보호자, 선생님께 도움을 요청해 주세요.
저희가 가진 본인 정보의 열람, 정정, 삭제, 처리 정지를 요청할 수 있습니다. riseagainstevil.help@gmail.com으로 이메일을 보내 주시면 최대한 빨리 답변드리겠습니다. 사건이나 댓글이 본인에 관한 것이고 부당하게 피해를 준다고 생각되면 이메일을 보내 주세요. 검토자가 검토하겠습니다.
